Villa Litta, jazz notes: "Notes around Smg". The first festival is underway

by Roberta RampiniLAINATEFirst edition of the “Notes Around Smg” festival directed by pianist Antonio Faraò from Wednesday 25 to Saturday 28 June at Villa Litta in Lainate. A cultural event that celebrates jazz with exclusive concerts and widespread performances: four evenings with artists of national and international importance, as well as young talents, to enhance the architectural and cultural heritage of the city through music. The stage will in fact be the Teatro Naturale della Villa, immersed in the greenery of the historic park.
It starts on Wednesday 25 June with a double date: from 8:30 pm to 10 pm the Swing Faces Marching Band will liven up the streets of Lainate and will involve the public with the typical sound of the New Orleans marching bands. Stefano Barbaglia (clarinet), Giancarlo Mariani (trumpet), Fabio Prina (bass tuba) and Alessandro Clerici (banjo) will propose the typical repertoire of the Louisiana parades.
From 10 pm the concert of Yves-Yann Lavaly Quintet at the Locanda al 5, a group directed by a young jazz pianist and composer originally from Martinique and completed by four talents: Matteo Vertua (trumpet), Raffaele Fiengo (alto sax), Daniele Tortora (double bass) and Dominique Faraò (drums). The repertoire will focus on original compositions by the leader and jazz standards.
Thursday 26th, at 9.30 pm on stage Fabio Concato, one of the most refined Italian singer-songwriters of the last fifty years who will present his new project Altro di Me.
Friday 27th at 9pm, “Ricordando Il Capolinea e Le Scimmie” evening, a tribute to two historic jazz clubs in Milan with a collective and unrepeatable concert that will feature some of the most important jazz musicians.
Saturday 28th, at 9.30pm grand finale with Antonio Faraò Quartet Special Guest Mario Biondi, a new formation, with Till Brönner (trumpet), Ameen Saleem (double bass) and Nicolas Viccaro (drums) and Mario Biondi as guest.
